Richard joined Hearts in Rugby Union in September 2021 as General Manager after 30 years in the medical device industry.

During his time whilst juggling his career Richard also represented the Wallabies from 1988 thru 1996, which included 5 test matches and a part of the 1991 World Cup winning squad and 1992 Bledisloe victory. a

Unfortunately, in 2018 Richard suffered a spinal cord injury whilst playing goalkeeper in over 35’s soccer match, his injuries leaving him a tetraplegic. Richard is well-placed to liaise with players who have suffered life changing injuries as result of playing the game of rugby; he has intimate knowledge of the NDIS system and can act as a resource, when and if required.
